I had to wait to post a reaction till now because I literally couldn't digest what I'd seen or sort out my emotions. [sign in to see URL]! I knew going in that was going to be brutal but I didn't [sign in to see URL]! Have to say, kudos to Jeffrey Dean Morgan for one kick ass performance. The Governor was nuts, Shane was a loose cannon but Negan just makes my skin crawl! And everyone else just crushed that scene [sign in to see URL] incredible from beginning to end.

As for the, er, nitty [sign in to see URL] the deaths weren't the worst part for me. We knew it was coming, most of us had a pretty good idea of who it would be. Yes, it was still gut wrenching to watch but for me the worst part of the whole thing was watching the systematic breaking down of Rick Grimes. Despite all the gross, stark, dark stuff we've seen over 7 seasons now, I've actually only cringed [sign in to see URL] when the Governor almost sexually assaulted Maggie and tonight as he was tormenting Rick and especially with the whole scene with Carl. That kind of helplessness is just far harder to watch than any death, no matter how gruesome. I can't imagine how you rebound from that. But I did love the little mini character moments we [sign in to see URL] standing up at the end being the one to say we have to fight back. And Carl telling Rick to go ahead and do it. Even Michonne trying unsuccessfully to actually reason with Negan. Little flashes that told us that there was at least some [sign in to see URL] some of our main characters were still whole. I'll be interested to see where they go from here but also unhappy if they're going to continue to makes things THIS [sign in to see URL] was just way too far, imo.

And [sign in to see URL] it sucked to see them go, it was absolutely awesome that both Abraham and Glenn got to ultimately go out on their own terms. Yes, "Suck my nuts!" was a classic Abraham line and I'd expect no less from him, but Glenn's line was just as typical, even though I didn't actually get it the first [sign in to see URL] till Lauren Cohan repeated it on TD. "I'll find you, Maggie!" [sign in to see URL]! I managed to get through the whole episode without crying, then I get to TD and that did it!

But [sign in to see URL] to the cast, producers, writers and [sign in to see URL] certainly gave us one kick ass pay off to that cliffhanger!

You pretty much covered it Sue.. wow.. holy crap... that was the most brutal, hard to watch episode yet. I had a feeling Glenn would go and a feeling someone else as well, but DAMN IT... This episode was so intense I watched half of it with hands over my eyes and peeked. Killing Abraham and Glenn was bad enough but breaking Rick.. taking [sign in to see URL] just watching all the others.... Intense...

Finally I have time to post my thoughts. I absolutely freakin' love Negan! I have waited for him for a long time. JDM oozes such believable evil, he's scary to watch. And I can't wait to see more.

As for the rest. I expected the two people to die. I did expect it to be Michonne rather than Glen but I'm glad they stuck to the story with it. It may have been gruesome but it was definitely well done. I was fine until Glen told Maggie he'd find her. That's when I lost it.

Overall, I thought it was well done and can't wait to see next week when we meet King Ezekiel.

Hi Steph! emoticon Agreed on [sign in to see URL] has been flat out incredible as Negan so far. I worried about being able to see him as anything other than John Winchester, but he does such a good job of inhabiting this character that you completely forget about the SPN connection. He literally made my skin crawl!

Wow that was a refreshing break. No one died.. yea! That said, very interesting episode. How can you not love Carol? She see B.S. and calls it just that. She had me giggling with her "It's Awesome" routine.

You can see her and the 'King' hooking up down the road. Kind of feel bad for Morgan though cause I think he had the hots for her.

Interesting twist.. feed the dead to the pigs that Negan's people are going to eat. We don't know if eating tainted meat will kill or make humans sick. I mean the ones that ate Bobby didn't live long enough to find out. Hmmm

I can see Rick and Ezek becoming allies down the road..

Good episode, we needed a step back this week.

Re:

Man, that was a complete 180 after last [sign in to see URL] much needed. It was good to catch up with Carol and Morgan and we saw that Carol is still in that same dark place she was when she left Alexandria. I didn't see Morgan having romantic feelings for her so much as feeling like she was someone he could save from the whole need to kill mentality.

King Ezekiel is certainly unique. I loved the Kingdom and Ezekiel and Shiva but I have to wonder how much sense it makes for him to keep the truth about Negan and the Saviors from most of the community. Kind of feels like Alexandria all over again in that they aren't prepared to defend themselves. At least he has a small group that are in on it and know how to fight, but as we've seen when it comes to Negan you need more than just a small group. I'm hoping that eventually we'll see the Kingdom banding together with Hilltop and Alexandria to fight Negan [sign in to see URL] think that's what it's going to take to bring Negan down.

In the meantime we have Carol still trying to distance herself, which isn't a good thing necessarily. I understand why she's doing it but I don't think it's realistic to try and survive on your own in this world. She was hysterical doing her ditzy housewife routine again but Ezekiel saw right through it. And I'm wondering, with him showing up at her doorstep at the end, whether we might be witnessing the beginning of a relationship there.

And you have to wonder what's going to happen once Carol and Morgan find out what happened to Rick and the [sign in to see URL] will this effect both of them in their attempts to live peacefully?

Well I have to admit last night's episode wasn't nearly as bad as I'd anticipated. Still not great to see Daryl being totally humiliated but I was heartened to see that he's still Daryl underneath it [sign in to see URL] to escape and refusing to bow to Negan. That's my boy!

It was interesting seeing the dynamic in Negan's compound too. Seems even his own people are too afraid of him to stand up to him. Perhaps they'll even join in when the others eventually band together and fight back (I'm still holding out hope for that eventual outcome).

Either way, it's pretty bleak when your own men would rather die than return to your service and even though he's one of the chosen few, it doesn't look like Dwight has it much better. Oh [sign in to see URL] Daryl's bike and crossbow were bad enough but you have the balls to wear his angel wing vest? Oh I don't think [sign in to see URL] guy has GOT to go!

I was really dreading this one. Had a bad feeling how it was going to go for Daryl. It was not pretty, that's for sure. But fortunately it wasn't quite as bad as I expected. Still I'll be humming that damn song for a week. I had faith they wouldn't break Daryl, he might pretend to break but he's never going to bow to Negan willingly.

Yeah, I thought the same [sign in to see URL] could pretend so that he can get access to more stuff and then break out. Or Dwight might still step in and help him, he definitely looks to be on the fence.

I saw an 'Easter Egg' on Facebook. Easter Eggs are funny hints/clues or whatever that the Walking Dead producers like to put in episodes. Apparently in the preview for the next episode there is a scene when Negan comes to Alexandria to collect. It shows his men and Daryl is there.

Well of course Daryl's there, he's Negan's [sign in to see URL] he said give me what you want or I'll give you Daryl back in pieces. That was probably his way of giving Rick a reminder.

Re:

So last night was predictably bleak. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on with Michonne and I had no idea she was such a terrible shot! Of course you knew when Negan showed up knocking on the door it wouldn't be comfortable. It was tough seeing Daryl like that but I was glad that he didn't give Negan the satisfaction of pleading his case when Rick asked for him to stay.

Speaking of [sign in to see URL] to blow it again, Carl. I swear that kid can never do what he's supposed to do. If he hadn't tried to go all Rambo on Negan's men, Alexandria might not have lost all its guns. Now they're really up !@#$'s [sign in to see URL]!

And when Fr. Gabriel is the one being reasonable you know you're in trouble, but that was quick thinking on his part with the fake grave for Maggie. I just felt bad for [sign in to see URL] he actually thinks she died too you know he'll just add that to the pile of guilt he's already carrying around.

And finally we get the big reveal from Rick about Judith's parentage. Not really a shock, as we pretty much suspected she could be Shane's but it was still surprising to hear it coming from Rick. Then again, he still doesn't really know for sure, hell even Laurie didn't know for sure. But his point was still made to Michonne. Now it just remains to be seen how long she'll go along with Rick's submission plan.

I just found it interesting that except for Fr. Gabriel it seemed to be all of the women who have been standing up and having the balls in light of the Negan situation and if it's the women who decide to strike back that just might work in their favor as I doubt Negan would expect that. So given that fact and the fact that there is now at least one person from Rick's group in each of the various communities, including the Saviors, that could point toward a very interesting little uprising [sign in to see URL]....

I found last night's episode to be intriguing. JDM is making Negan a very easy character to hate. And man is he good at it. I really hated the way Rick has just lost all of his confidence and fight. I so wanted him to swing Lucille and take Negan out. But of course we knew that wouldn't happen. Yet at least. I was also annoyed that Rick gave up the sniper rifle, what the hell? Negan didn't know about it so why give it up? And yes Carl, you just digressed back to idiot status. You reminded Negan to get the guns.

Daryl was interesting as well. He won't bow to Negan and he won't plead his case. Good for him, Negan isn't going to break him.... I hope.

Rick admitting he knew Judy wasn't his child was surprising. Surprising mostly because I don't even think Laurie was really sure who's baby it was. Not really sure what the point of it was either. Michonne is going to give it a go and work with Negan but I don't think that will last very long.

All in all a really good episode. Dark and depressing but still very good.

So last night was another county heard [sign in to see URL] time Hilltop. Glad that Maggie's ok and the baby is ok too. Looks like she and Sasha have not lost their edge after the Negan encounter, good to see someone is still thinking straight. Gregory is a total ass and I could definitely see Maggie replacing him as head of Hilltop. Jesus is quickly becoming my second favorite character after Daryl, I just hope Carl doesn't end up getting him in trouble now that they've met up in the back of that truck. With Carl's penchant for screwing things up it does not bode well. (Have to say the "Wyatt Twerp" reference on TD was my favorite line of the night!) And I LOVED Maggie going rogue farm girl with the [sign in to see URL] was freakin' awesome! Also loved her identifying herself as Maggie [sign in to see URL], a nice little nod to Glenn there!

Good episode. I can definitely see Maggie taking over at Hilltop and Jesus backing her. She and Sasha are the only ones thinking straight these days. Have to wonder just how bad Carl is going to mess things up now. You know he'll get himself caught and probably Jesus too. Things could get ugly... but if he does get caught it might be the kick in the butt Rick needs to get his head back on straight.

So last night [sign in to see URL]. Dragged a lot for me. I'm really getting tired of all of the different communities being brought in. Enough already! It's getting so you need a scorecard to remember who everyone is. But the intriguing part is there are a lot of little satellite communities out there, none of them thrilled with Negan. If they ever all manage to come together he and the Saviors will never be able to stand up to that kind of attack. Especially since I have a strong feeling there's more dissention within his own ranks than he [sign in to see URL] Daryl's beginning to realize it. It was good to see what had happened to Tara and the black guy whose name I can never remember. I wonder if he managed to survive the bridge. I felt really bad for Tara when she finally got back only to find out about Denise and [sign in to see URL] about your 1-2 punch! I'm glad she didn't tell Rosita about Oceanside [sign in to see URL] don't deserve to be dragged into this although I think they'd be pretty tough in a fight.

Was intrigued by the sneak peak at next week during TD [sign in to see URL] like I figured, Carl is going to screw up and get himself and Jesus in trouble. I was literally wanting to yell at my screen - screw him, Jesus, just JUMP! emoticon

This episode was a bit slow for me. I mean I like Tara but not sure I needed an entire episode dedicated to her. And while it's good to know there are other communities out there, enough already. I want to focus on our group not everyone else out there. It does seem that there are more than enough people out there to take on Negan but that would require a lot of organization. I found it interesting that he chose to kill all of the men in that group.. every male over 10.. dang...

Re:

Well last night was a 180 turn from the previous [sign in to see URL] it just about made my skin crawl. In 6 1/2 years of watching this show that was the first time I ever had to actually close my [sign in to see URL] was just no way I could take the iron scene!

While there is a grotesquely fascinating quality about Negan (and damn if JDM doesn't play him to the hilt!), I just can't stomach the absolutely brutal turn the show has taken this season. Oh I'm still watching, because like it or not you get emotionally invested in these characters and you just have to find out what happens next, but I'm not enjoying it as much as I once did.

That being said, and grossness aside, there were some good points to last night's episode. First and foremost, Carl didn't get Jesus caught, thank freakin' God! Although speaking of [sign in to see URL] the hell did he go when he disappeared from the top of the truck? And I was more than a little relieved when it wasn't Daryl getting the business end of the iron but fortunately it seems Negan has taken a liking to him so I think he's being cagey with him. And Daryl is obviously biding his time, though I got worried when he spoke up after Carl showed up. And you have to wonder who slipped the note under his door and will he really try to make good on his escape in Negan's absence?

The whole budding relationship between Negan and Carl is both fascinating and creepy at the same time. And once again, the stupid little !@#$ just can't help but put other people in danger. First Olivia (and bravo to her for slapping the crap out of Negan, you go girl!) and now little Judith. Oh, you can just imagine how it's going to go over when Rick gets back and finds Negan sitting on his porch with his little girl. Not good!

Of course Rick and Aaron will have to survive walker lake [sign in to see URL] a promising prospect. And between Rosita and Michonne going rogue, you just know someone is lining themselves up to be the next victim in next week's mid-season finale.

A lot of things will be coming to a head next week, as you'd expect from a mid-season finale. I'll be interested to see exactly how they leave things but nothing seems to be boding well, that's for sure.
